"Another alternate would be a reverse view from behind the soldiers with her running at them. In reality, she is coming from the chateau, so it would make more sense to see it behind her anyway. Your composition with the chateau in the background is a cheat (which is okay as it is good to see it). Would this make her too small? What if she were in mid-leap and they were aiming their weapons up at her?"
The artist returned this work-in-progress:
"That's looking great! just a few comments:
I think we could loose the vertical structure coming down from the nose of the airship--this is a surprise attack so there would not have been a landing structure in the courtyard (I assume that is what that is). Also, if you can incorporate any steampunk design aesthetic into the airship that would be great. I can send you some samples, but if you search steampunk airship images you should get a ton! We just don't want it to be too "normal."
Love her pose in general. Can she be looking to the place where she is jumping (i.e., turn her head a bit towards camera)?
Not sure about the tree upper left. I think I will like it but right now I can't really tell what it is. Do you think it works compositionally without it?"
